We will appraise the asset value of your item on the spot and provide you with a loan immediately. With our "pawn services," you don't have to part with cherished items. You can pick them up when you are financially able. Furthermore, we never make demands or send reminders, so you can use our services with peace of mind.

In-store process
1Present your item and ID
When you visit, please present your item and a valid form of identification.
Anyone 18 years or older can use our services.

●Identification (At our store, valid identification includes government-issued IDs with a photo, such as a driver's license, student ID, or passport, or health insurance cards.)
2Appraisal
A staff member will appraise the item you presented.
Next, we will inform you of the maximum loan amount available.
If you are not satisfied with the estimated amount, you may take your item back.
3Pawn agreement established
Please present your identification and fill out an application form.
We will provide you with the appraised amount in cash and a pawn ticket detailing your item. Your pawned item will be strictly stored in our secure vault. The pawn ticket is required when you redeem your item.
4Cash disbursement
You pay the principal amount and the pawn fee corresponding to the period, and we return your item. (This is called "redemption" or "picking up"). The storage period is 3 months.
(If you pay the pawn fee by the forfeiture deadline, the deadline can be extended.)
If the pawn fee is not paid within the storage period, ownership of the pawned item will automatically transfer to Mako Pawn Shop. (This is called "forfeiture" or "liquidation of pawned goods.")
About Pawn Fees and Installment Repayments
What is a pawn fee?
A pawn fee is a monthly charge incurred when you redeem a pawned item. Our pawn fees are calculated on a full-month basis.
(One month is calculated from the date of use until the same date in the following month.) So you can use our service with peace of mind even at the end of the month. For amounts up to 30,000 yen, the rate is 8%. For amounts exceeding 30,000 yen, the rate for the excess amount is 5%. (This means higher amounts are more advantageous.)
Example: If you borrow 50,000 yen (30,000 yen × 8% + 20,000 yen × 5%)
The monthly interest is 3,400 yen.
Simple interest calculation method
Principal less than 30,000 yen = Principal × 0.08 (8%)
Principal 30,000 yen to 200,000 yen = Principal × 0.05 (5%) + 900 yen
Principal 200,000 yen or more = Principal × 0.03 (3%) + 4,900 yen
Interest cannot be prorated daily.
About installment repayments
After settling the pawn fee, you can repay the loan amount (principal) in installments of 1,000 yen.
Example: If you pawn an item for 30,000 yen on April 10th and repay 10,000 yen in three installments.

※Compare the total payment when repaid in a lump sum after 3 months versus in 3 installments as per the example above.
Lump sum repayment: (Principal 30,000 yen) + (Pawn fee 2,400 yen) × 3 months = 37,200 yen
Installment repayment: 34,800 yen (from the example above)
★Installment repayment saves you 2,400 yen.
※It is most advantageous for customers to make installment repayments on the same day the item was pawned (the 10th in the example above).

Pawn Services Q&A
Q1What if I lose my pawn ticket?
Please contact us immediately to process a loss report. You will need your identification to receive your item. Please note that pawn tickets cannot be reissued.
Q2Will I be contacted before the deadline?
No, we generally do not contact you.

Q3What if the forfeiture date falls on a store holiday?
The forfeiture date will be the next business day.
Q4Will my information be leaked externally?
No, we strictly comply with laws and regulations and manage information rigorously at our branches.

No, as a general rule, we do not.
